The PowerModule

CNC Slide Module
The choice for OEM builders and integrators of modular CNC systems—this multi-axis modular slide system is ideal for in-line or dial machining systems. Using decades of our own high-production machining experience, our PowerModule is made specifically for continuous, high-production operations.
Faster Cycle Times...Increased Production Volumes
Our rapid traverse rates and Accel / Decel rates are some of the highest in the industry. This leads to faster cycle times and elevated production volumes.
Guaranteed Accuracy
Accuracy and repeatability tolerances are also guaranteed before the module leaves our plant.
Multiple Control Options
Depending on customer preference, several control options exist. Fanuc, Allen-Bradley, and an open architecture CNC are all available for stand-alone systems.
As you will see, we cut no corners in design or components to give customers a high-quality, low-maintenance system, characteristics of every Ultra Tech designed machining system. This translates into modules that will withstand the elevated cycles for years to come.
Spindle Configurations
Each module is made to accept all of the (4) following spindle configurations:
- A dedicated spindle without tool change capability
- A spindle with automatic tool change capability from a fixed tool changer rack with 20-30 tools
- An indexable turret with separate spindles at each station (4 to 8 tools)
Features
- Designed for high-volume rotary and in-line machining systems
- Cut in-house design and manufacturing costs
- Reduce machine lead-time with pre-engineered units
- Module is offered as a slide “shell” for builders or can be made as a fully integrated system with a CNC, power unit, and base
- 355 mm (14"), 510 mm (20"), and 660 mm (26") standard working envelopes
- Standard configurations: spindle with optional rotary carousel tool changes (12 to 40 tools) or up to an 8-position indexable turret
- Available slide designs: hardened-way or linear rail
- Guaranteed accuracy -- test run and calibrated before shipment
- Standard spindle: 12,000 rpm; 10 to 50 horsepower
- Optional glass scale feedback
- The latest (3rd) generation design
- Stout, compact design -- FEA Optimized. Lower center of gravity maximizes rigidity when machining complex parts
- High Accel/Decel Rates - increased speed and throughput
- High-speed motorized spindles (12,000+ rpm) are also available
