Ultra Tech Assists Troops in Iraq with High-Tech Machinery

Cuyahoga Falls Mayor, Don L. Robart announces the deployment of a high-tech device, re-built and upgraded in Cuyahoga Falls by Ultra Tech Machinery, to U.S. Troops in Southwest Asia.

The device is a Mobile Machine Shop, which manufactures parts at the point of need in direct support of the fighting soldier. The MPH system has a proven track record in Kuwait (Camp Arifjan - Operational October 2003), Iraq (Camp Anaconda - Operational April 2005) and Afghanistan (Bagram Air Force Base - Operational July 2005). Since its deployment to South West Asia (SWA) these combined units have manufactured approximately 77,051 critical parts as of 31 May 2008. The MPH provides direct assistance to our soldiers overseas by providing necessary parts and tools that are either unique or not available within the supply system. “This will have a direct effect on assisting our soldiers with mission readiness,” commented Mayor Robart. “We are proud to have a company like Ultra Tech in our community.”

As parts are needed, the mobile machine shop can manufacture them in the field. “It has the ability to manufacture known items and also uniquely designed parts and tools for immediate use”, explained Ultra Tech president Don Hagarty. The work is commissioned by Alion as a subcontractor to Honeywell in support of TACOM ILSC.

A special Deployment Ceremony for the Mobile Machine Shop will take place on Wednesday, June 25, 2008 at 10:00 am at Ultra Tech Machinery at 338 Remington Road in Cuyahoga Falls. The ceremony is open to the public.
